Prof. Mohamed E Shokr from Environment Canada was invited to vist CACSM

Prof. Shokr gave presentations at CACSM

 

From April 8 to 11, 2016, Prof. Mohamed E Shokr from Environment Canada visted CACSM on invitation. He made wide exchanges with the teachers and students in a series of scientific issues on sea ice research.

On Arpil 9 and 10, Prof. Shokr mainly discussed about polar sea ice extraction, and sea ice monitoring and its relation to global climate change with two research groups of CACSM.

On Arpil 11, Prof. Shokr gave two presentationes respectively on “Sea Ice: Remote Sensing Data Sources and Approaches of Data Fusion ” and “Current Research Topics on Sea Ice Remote Sensing”, in which he introduced the extraction approaches of various sea ice parameters, and Canada's development in sea ice monitoring. 

The visit of Prof. Shokr brought benefit experience to CACSM's research of sea ice remote sensing, and laied a foundation for further cooperation and exchange between Environment Canada and CACSM.
