Dr. Ji Qing participates in the 7th Chinese Arctic Scientific Expedition

The 7th Chinese Arctic Scientific Expedition starts from Shanghai on July 11th. Dr. Ji Qing, a young scholar in our center participates in this expedition and will perform tasks for the sea ice change monitoring project. The 7th Arctic expedition will carry out multidisciplinary comprehensive survey in the Bering Sea, Bering Strait, Chukchi Sea, Chukchi Sea station, Mendeleev Ridge, Canada Basin and other high latitude area in Pacific region. It is the first time to include Mendeleev Ridge in northern Russia in the scope of Arctic expedition. The aim is to investigate the distribution and variation of essential factors in oceanography and meteorology, marine chemistry, marine biology and ecology, marine geology, marine geophysics, ice dynamics and thermodynamics, to provide support for the comprehensive evaluation of the Arctic environment and climate.
