From October 25 to 26,CACSM organized the International Symposium on Remote Sensing and Global Change: The Antarctic, Arctic, and Tibetan Plateau. The topics of the symposium includes surveying, mapping and remote sensing in the Antarctic, Arctic and Tibetan Plateau, sea ice in the Antarctic and Arctic, ice sheet mass balance, climate and environment in the Antarctic and Arctic, climate and environment in the Tibetan Plateau, and cooperative observation in the Antarctic, Arctic and Tibetan Plateau.
Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Forestry and Agriculure, Dr. Kim Johan Holmen and Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. LI Deren co-chaired the symposium. And Vice-president of Wuhan University as well as the Director of CACSM, Prof. LI Fei chaired the Local Organizing Committee.
Over 100 experts and scholars from China and abroad who are engaged in scientific research of polar region and Tibet Plateau attended the symposium. They gave over 40 invited and oral presentations, and exchanged thoughts and research results in their own research fields.
